Information

The most picturesque allotments in south-east England. A haven not just for gardeners but also for bees, butterflies and birds, particularly waterfowl.

The allotment site is owned by Faversham Town Council, with allotments provided for the residents of Faversham.  The Stonebridge Allotment Society manages the site on behalf of FTC, maintaining a waiting list, collecting rents, and utilising these for the maintenance of the site.

Applying for a plot

Before applying for a plot, be aware that running a successful allotment will mean a lot of hard work.  Unless you are lucky, most plots on takeover will inevitably look overgrown.  The secret is to work a plot a little and often.  Once cleared, you must be prepared to spend on average at least 5-6 hours a week cultivating and maintaining your plot.  Ask yourself, have I got the spare time and commitment?.

We currently have a long waiting list, with new applicants unlikely to be offered a plot for 3 years.

If you wish to be placed on the waiting list,  see details on the CONTACTS page.  All applications will be confirmed with a current position on the list.

Insurance

The Society carries normal insurances under a policy arranged by the National Allotment Association.
