Skip Delivery

A skip will be available at the main gate of the allotment site from Thursday 26th March, until it is full.  It is for the disposal of allotment rubbish only, but the skip should not be filled with rubble, soil or compostable material.

If you wish to make use of the skip to clear rubbish from your plot at this difficult time, please make sure to follow Government guidelines on social distancing and hand washing.

Work Party

On Sunday 15th December 2019 we will be having a work party to clear vegetation from some of the watercourses and lightly prune some of the overhanging trees and other vegetation.

You are welcome to join the committee to assist with these tasks.

Meet at the Flood Lane entrance gate at 0930 hrs.

Please wear suitable footwear and gloves and bring bowsaws and loppers if you have them. Other tools will be provided.

It would be helpful if you notify the committee that you are able to attend by e-mailing stonebridgeallotmentsociety@gmail.com

November Work Party

Thanks to the ten plus volunteers who turned up over three days to clear years of accumulated rubbish and overgrown vegetation from one of our plots, prior to its re-letting. A tremendous amount of work was achieved in order to make the site presentable to new tenants.

The photographs show some of the work in progress. Thanks to Chris Chalmers for the first two photographs.

Louise and  Andrew Lees were awarded a top award for the second year running in the Kent Wildlife Trust Wild about Gardens Award Scheme. Their plot was selected as the best in plots for its good mix of vegetables and fruit for consumption and thoughtful planting of a variety of plants to attract pollinators and a range of other wildlife.
